About me

Born in Germany and now located in Tokyo, Japan, I'm a software engineer working at BMW.
In my free time, I'm into photography and iPhone app development, and this is what this homepage is all about. After I graduated in Business IT in Regensburg, Germany, I moved to Japan where I'm now living since 2006.

Why Japan? I am asked this questioned a lot. What can I say — I simply love living in Japan. The first times I came to Japan as a student and later worked here as a software developer for a small IT company called Ashley Associates, before I finally joined the coolest car company in the world.

What is it about Japan? It is a mixture of many things: The food (love it!), the great customer service, the trains, the bits of traditional culture that still lurk here and there, and the fact that Japan is radically different (and yet superficially quite similar) from western countries, Germany as well in some aspects.
I could live virtually anywhere I want in the world and I choose to live here in Tokyo, Japan. I do not plan on moving back to Europe, but you never know. For now, I love what I do, and I love where I live. I consider myself very lucky.
